I was using Launchbox with 200 games. It was consuming 900MB-1GB ram. Installed Playnite and ram consumption with same game amount goes to 200-300MB. The UI is fluid and the app syncs with all the major game launchers. I have games on Epic, Uplay, Steam, Battlenet, Origin and GOG and everything was synchronized. I also use it as a reminder for games from Humble Bundle that are DRM free (those you have to add manually to playnite). It is a great app. Not only that the option of sorting and filtering the games with installed status helps me manage my storage space and to launch my go to games quicker. See More

I have previously used the free tier of LaunchBox. And while LaunchBox is awesome once you pay for it, it's just too expensive for a game launcher, and I really wanted a big picture mode. So when I searched for alternatives, of course I found Playnite; and ever since I started using it, it became my go to for a game launcher, with big picture mode. My only major issue is that it's Windows only. I would love to see this go to macOS, or better yet Linux. I was really disappointed when I found that it doesn't have a Linux client, which I found when I briefly switched. Yes, there is Steam's Big Picture, but it's not quite as good as Playnite. And again, adding non-Steam games to it is a pain. I didn't have much issue with the grid layout, I feel like, that the small customization that's given in fullscreen Playnite is alright. It's not the best, but it's good enough. Plus, I think that it's just a small nitpick, and I think it can be overshadowed by the numerous amounts of themes avaliable for Playnite. Although keep in mind, that if you want to get them, some of them are uploaded straight to Playnite's Forum's servers, and to download, you need to sign up. Some themes are uploaded elsewhere, like Github tho. Just bare that in mind. See More
